For a lot of us, Summer is the perfect time to relax and forget about all your worries at school or work. So, it’s easy to fall into the trap of eating unhealthy food and gaining weight, which is why here at the Bugs Group we have found 3 easy steps you can follow to make your child feel good about themselves while taking part in sport.
Plan your child’s food the night before
If you leave a packed lunch until the last minute, then you will be rushed into a decision and more likely to take the ‘easy’ option. It’s something that we all do but planning what is best for your child to eat is the best thing to do as a parent.
Fridge food
Take a look at the contents of your fridge, is there a mix of carbohydrates, proteins and fibre rich foods. If not, try changing things around! This way your child will be snacking on the right foods when they get home from school or a fun day at a FootieBugs, DanceBugs or MultiBugs camp.
Plant more food
Make sure your child has a positive experience with healthy foods, plant a fruit tree or grow a vegetable patch or visit a farmer’s market with your child. This way they are more likely to enjoy healthy foods rather than turn them away.
